The Jensen Family Archives
The masthead image is a photo of Ane Maria Andreasdatter, the mother of Abelone Jensen, at the cottage where she lived most of her life. This photo dated about 1906 was taken to celebrate her 100th birthday in Vejle, Denmark. She lived to be almost 106 years old and, as the oldest living resident of Denmark at the time, was rewarded with presents from the Danish king. Due to her fame as the eldest Dane, her grave is serviced in perpetuity by Denmark rather than being recycled as is the Danish custom.
